Launched in 2015, the 1160 HP, twin-turbocharged Koenigsegg Agera RS not only lived up to its astonishing performance claims- it surpassed them. After this week, however, there will be no more Ageras. The last of twenty-five, named Phoenix, has been delivered to its lucky buyer by Christian von Koenigsegg himself.
During its brief production run, the Agera RS established itself as the undisputed super car speed king with a two-way average run of 447km/h across 11 miles of Las Vegas highway in 2017. That’s the average- the car hit 284 MPH at one point in a record-setting run that beat out the Bugatti Veyron, Ferrari La Ferrari, and- well, everything else along the way!
To commemorate the legend that is the Koenigsegg Agera, take a few minutes to watch as factory test driver, Niklas Lalja, takes one of Sweden’s finest road cars to the absolute limit on a real-life public road — cleared with the proper authorities, of course! Check it out, then let us know how fast you think your car would go in the comments section at the bottom of the page.
You can watch the man himself deliver the final car by clicking here. As for the company, meanwhile, it will focus its energies on producing more advanced cars like the hybrid electric Regera. A car which happens to be able to smoke the tires at more than 160 MPH (!).
