If you’re going to be in or around Chicago next weekend, you’re in luck. The Autobarn Volvo Oak Park will be hosting two days’ worth of BBQ with a cook-out to support the USO on Saturday, July 14th. We’ll follow that with our annual Swedish car meet-and-greet event on Sunday, July 15th. (!)
Both events will be collecting money to support the USO, an organization that works to provide US soldiers and sailors with a connection to their families back home, along with entertainment, relaxation, and– when it’s needed– a hot meal. Even small donations make a real difference.
$5 can provide 3 service members access and support at one of 2 USO O’Hare Centers
$10 can provide 2 sailors a free hot meal the night before pay day at USO Great Lakes Center
$34 gives 1 military child access to the USO Discovery Kids Program
$51 can send 1 care package to a deployed troop from Illinois
$100 can provide emotional and financial support to more than $25 different military family members over the holidays
Your USO Donation is Huge
You want to come back for the Sunday BBQ, too, because the Autobarn will be hosting Envolved, a unique chapter of Volvo enthusiasts who come together for questions, meets, cruises, and other Chicagoland car events. The event will also feature some prominent members of Europrojektz and, of course, me! All of us will be on hand along with classic Volvo and Saab street cars, collectibles, and race cars. We hope you’ll be there, too. Both to help us support the troops and to share in our love for Swedish cars.
